The book is an attempt to reconstruct the Jewish community as it existed in Hollabrunn before its destruction in 1938. Those affected by National Socialism are named, their roles as integrated citizens of the municipality pointed out and their inclusion in the life of the community documented. The way in which they became victims of National Socialist persecution is demonstrated and their fate after March 1938 examined.

Das Buch stellt den Versuch einer Rekonstruktion der jüdischen Gemeinde dar, wie sie in Hollabrunn vor ihrer Vernichtung im Jahr 1938 existierte. Die von der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgung Betroffenen sollen benannt, ihre Funktion als integrierte BürgerInnen der Stadtgemeinde aufgezeigt und ihre Einbindung in das Gemeindeleben dokumentiert werden. Es soll gezeigt werden, wie sie zu Opfern der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgung wurden und was ihr Schicksal nach dem März 1938 war.
