Cantors concert

In 2008, 70 years after Nazi Germany marched into Austria, the annual cantors concert of the Jewish Community Vienna took place in remembrance of the victims of the November pogrom 1938. In this year of remembrance, it was particularly important to the Jewish Community that pieces by composers and cantors were performed, who were active before the Shoah so that, after the destruction by the National Socialist regime, the music isn’t forgotten.

Das alljährliches Kantorenkonzert der Israelitischen Kultusgemeinde Wien findet im Jahr 2008, siebzig Jahre nach dem Einmarsch Nazideutschlands in Österreich, im Andenken der Opfer der Novemberpogromnacht 1938 statt. In diesem Gedenkjahr ist es der Israelitischen Kultusgemeinde besonders wichtig, Musikstücke von Komponisten und Kantoren aufzuführen, die vor der Shoah gewirkt haben, damit diese Musik nach der Zerstörung durch das NS-Regime nicht vergessen wird.
