The study "Meine Mama war Widerstandskämpferin" uses the life stories of three women to show resistance networks under National Socialism in different social milieus. As examples, the stories of Barbara Eibensteiner, Irma Trsak and Gertrude Horn stand for a Czech network, a Jewish network and a network of the communist youth association. The networks are analysed and their resistance activities are worked out - a micro-sociological reappraisal of resistance in the Nazi era. In addition, the authors cover the period up to the present day, specifically by following the life stories of the three resistance fighters beyond 1945 and by examining their contribution to the development of democracy in the Second Republic.

Die Studie „Meine Mama war Widerstandskämpferin“ zeigt anhand der Lebensgeschichten dreier Frauen Widerstandsnetzwerke im Nationalsozialismus in unterschiedlichen gesellschaftlichen Milieus auf. Exemplarisch stehen die Geschichten von Barbara Eibensteiner, Irma Trsak und Gertrude Horn für ein tschechisches, ein jüdisches und ein Netzwerk des kommunistischen Jugendverbands. Die Netzwerke werden analysiert und ihre Widerstandsaktivitäten herausgearbeitet – eine mikrosoziologische Aufarbeitung von Widerstand in der NS-Zeit. Darüber hinaus spannen die AutorInnen den Bogen bis ins Heute: Konkret mit der Weiterverfolgung der Lebensgeschichten der drei WiderstandskämpferInnen über 1945 hinaus und mit der Aufarbeitung ihres Beitrags zur Entwicklung der Demokratie in der Zweiten Republik.
