A feasibility study for the "Digital Media Case" project was already run from February to October 2018. The result was the recognition of the need for a step-by-step expansion of the project from the pilot phase to a test phase and finally to an international and long-term solution at EU level. The preparation of the integration of the Digital Media Suitcase into other cultural and educational institutions in Austria and abroad, such as museums, schools and universities, as well as the expansion of the stock of international audiovisual and private archives is an inherent part of the test phase.

Bereits von Februar bis Oktober 2018 lief eine Machbarkeitsstudie zum Projekt „Digitaler Medienkoffer“. Das Ergebnis war die Erkenntnis der Notwendigkeit eines stufenweisen Ausbaus des Projekts von der Pilotphase hin zu einer Testphase bis hin zu einer internationalen und langfristigen Lösung auf EU-Ebene. Die Vorbereitung der Integration des Digitalen Medienkoffers auch in andere kulturelle und bildungsorientierte Einrichtungen in- und außerhalb Österreichs, wie Museen, Schulen und Universitäten, sowie der Ausbau des Bestands der internationalen audiovisuellen und privaten Archive ist immanenter Bestandteil der Testphase.
