Description
Otto Gründmandl, born in Hall in Tyrol in 1924 where he also died in 2000, was a cabaret artist, actor and author of prose, poetry and screenplays. Due to his Jewish origins, Grünmandl was sent to a labor camp in Rositz/Thuringia during the Nazi era. After his liberation he studied electrical engineering at the Technical University in Graz and worked as a textile merchant in his father's shop. In the post-war period he wrote poems and the novella "Ein Gefangener" (A Prisoner). His literary work also includes stories, screenplays, plays and radio plays. Otto Grünmandl took part in numerous films. He has received several awards for his versatile work. The aim of the project is to produce a five-volume edition of works for the great humorist and folk actor Otto Grünmandl, for which support is currently being sought for the first volume.

Otto Gründmandl, 1924 in Hall in Tirol geboren, 2000 ebendort gestorben, war Kabarettist, Schauspieler und Autor von Prosa, Lyrik und Drehbüchern. Aufgrund seiner jüdischen Herkunft kam Grünmandl in der NS-Zeit in ein Arbeitslager in Rositz/Thürigen. Nach seiner Befreiung studierte er Elektrotechnik an der Technischen Hochschule in Graz und arbeitete als Textilkaufmann im Geschäft seines Vaters. In der Nachkriegszeit entstanden Gedichte und die Novelle „Ein Gefangener“, sein literarisches Werk umfasst darüber hinaus auch Erzählungen, Drehbücher, Theaterstücke und Hörspiele. Otto Grünmandl wirkte in zahlreichen Filmen mit. Für sein vielseitiges Schaffen wurde er mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Ziel des Projekts ist eine Werkausgabe für den großen Humoristen und Volksschauspieler Otto Grünmandl, angelegt auf fünf Bände, wovon aktuell um Unterstützung für den ersten Band angesucht wird.
