Description
The new concept of the Sigmund Freud Museum aims to present the multi-layered contents of the historical cultural location Berggasse 19 in a comprehensive manner - from the early development of psychoanalysis and ist institutionalization and worldwide implementation to the danger of ist extinction under National Socialism and the questioning of ist current significance. For this reason, Freud's former place of work at Berggasse 19 in Vienna will in future present itself as a place of remembrance, preservation and socio-cultural exchange. All these aspects of the new museum concept will be included in the catalogue publication.

Das neue Konzept des Sigmund-Freud-Museums sieht vor, die vielschichtigen Inhalte des historischen Kulturstandortes Berggasse 19 umfassend zur Darstellung zu bringen – von der frühen Entwicklungsgeschichte der Psychoanalyse und der Institutionalisierung und weltweiten Implementierung über die Gefahr ihrer Auslöschung im Nationalsozialismus bis hin zur Befragung ihrer aktuellen Bedeutung. Daher wird sich Freuds ehemalige Wirkungsstätte in der Wiener Berggasse 19 zukünftig als ein Ort des Erinnerns, Bewahrens und des soziokulturellen Austausches präsentieren. All diese Aspekte der neuen Museumkonzeption fließen in die Katalogpublikation ein.
