Description

Born in Vienna, a young man Hermann Langbein (1912-1995) fought against Franco in Spain and then against the Nazis. He was imprisoned and deported to Auschwitz. Although permanently threatened with death, he founded the international "Kampfgruppe Auschwitz" - Resistance in Hell together with other prisoners within the concentration camp. The film deals with the questions: How do you fight when every hour could be the last? How do you organize resistance, how do you plan an escape if just one wrong move leads to death? Timeless questions arise: What are the possibilities of resistance? Where is the thin line between one's own need for security, responsibility and compassion? How does state terror work?
