The central goals of the civil courage training is to increase sensitivity for civil courage, to expand one's own behavioural repertoire on different levels and to teach civil courage and social responsibility in the past and today. In addition to the theoretical discussion of civil courage in authoritarian and highly repressive systems, especially during the Nazi era, the civil courage training also uses examples of rescuers and helpers during the Nazi era to convey why people decided to help others at that time despite the extreme circumstances. The trainers describe the actions of courageous people who acted with civil courage.

Die zentralen Ziele der Zivilcourage-Trainings sind, die Sensibilität für zivilcouragiertes Handeln zu erhöhen, das eigene Verhaltensrepertoire auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen zu erweitern sowie Zivilcourage sowie gesellschaftliche Verantwortung im Gestern und Heute zu vermitteln. Zusätzlich zur theoretischen Auseinandersetzung mit Zivilcourage in autoritären und hoch repressiven Systemen, speziell in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus, wird in den Zivilcourage-Trainings auch an Beispielen von RetterInnen und HelferInnen in der NS Zeit vermittelt, warum sich Menschen damals trotz der extremen Rahmenbedingungen entschieden haben, anderen Menschen zu helfen. Die Trainer vermitteln das Handeln von mutigen Menschen, die zivilcouragiert gehandelt haben.
