In 2021, the Jewish Museum of the City of Vienna will present an exhibition at the Museum on Judenplatz called "Our Middle Ages! The First Jewish Community in Vienna". The latest archaeological and architectural research as well as technology make it possible to experience the topography of the medieval Judenstadt as well as the excavations of the synagogue destroyed in 1421. In addition to the everyday life of Jews in Vienna in the Middle Ages, the exhibition also tells of the history of Judenplatz as an urban site. For centuries after 1421, the traces of Jewish life on this square were hardly in the consciousness of the city. It was only during the construction of the memorial to the Austrian Jewish victims of the Shoah that the remains of the synagogue were discovered. After years of debate, these were made accessible in 2000 by the newly opened Judenplatz Museum. The exhibition comprehensively addresses the genesis of the erection of the Memorial to the Austrian Jewish Victims of the Shoah.

Das Jüdische Museum der Stadt Wien präsentiert 2021 eine Ausstellung im Museum Judenplatz namens „unser Mittelalter! Die erste jüdische Gemeinde in Wien“. Neuste archäologische und architektonische Forschung sowie Technologien machen die Topografie der mittelalterlichen Judenstadt ebenso erfahrbar wie die Ausgrabungen der 1421 zerstörten Synagoge. Neben dem Alltag der Jüdinnen und Juden in Wien im Mittelalter erzählt die Ausstellung auch von der Geschichte des Judenplatzes als urbanem Ort. Jahrhundertelang waren nach dem Jahr 1421 die Spuren jüdischen Lebens an diesem Platz kaum mehr im Bewusstsein der Stadt. Erst rund um den Bau des Mahnmals für die österreichischen jüdischen Opfer der Shoah wurden die Überreste der Synagoge entdeckt. Nach jahrelangen Debatten wurden diese im Jahr 2000 durch das neu eröffnete Museum Judenplatz zugänglich gemacht. Die Ausstellung thematisiert umfassend die Genese der Errichtung des Mahnmals für die österreichischen jüdischen Opfer der Shoah.
