The documentary "Power of Responsibility" looks back at the historical and political developments of the Second Republic since 1945. It sheds light on how Austria's victimhood as well as its shared responsibility were dealt with and how responsibility was assumed. In the long process of coming to terms with Austria's National Socialist past, "Austria's shared responsibility and thus also its complicity" was noted. This resulted in the late "wiedergutmchung" for victims of National Socialism. As a result, the "National Fund of the Republic of Austria for Victims of National Socialism" was established. Another milestone in Austria's efforts to come to terms with the past was the appointment of a Historical Commission in 1998 to examine the issue of the "Seizure of Jewish Property by the Nazi Regime and Attempts at Reparation. On 1 January 2006, the Future Fund of the Republic of Austria commenced its activities. Both the Future Fund and the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for Victims of National Socialism support a wide range of projects. The following subsidized projects are presented in the planned documentary: - Europe as a peace project - Apprentices to Brussels from selected vocational schools - Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial - Austrian Democracy Monitor - Intercultural Achievement Award - "Hypnotized: On the Trail of Children's Rights (play).

Die Dokumentation „Kraft der Verantwortung“ blickt auf die historischen und politischen Entwicklungen der Zweiten Republik seit dem Jahr 1945 zurück. Sie beleuchtet, wie mit der Opferthese Österreichs als auch mit der Mitverantwortung umgegangen wurde und Verantwortung übernommen wurde. Im langen Prozess der Aufarbeitung der nationalsozialistischen Vergangenheit Österreichs wurde die „Mitverantwortung und damit auch die Mitschuld Österreichs“ festgehalten. Dies hatte die späte „Wiedergutmachung“ für Opfer des Nationalsozialismus zur Folge. In Folge wurde der „Nationalfonds der Republik Österreich für Opfer des Nationalsozialismus“ gegründet. Ein weiterer Meilenstein auf dem Weg der österreichischen Vergangenheitsbewältigung war die Einsetzung einer Historikerkommission 1998, die den Themenkomplex „Raub von jüdischem Eigentum durch das NS-Regime und die Versuche der Wiedergutmachung“ aufarbeitete, 2003 präsentierte die Historikerkommission ihren Endbericht. Am 1. Jänner 2006 nahm der Zukunftsfonds der Republik Österreich seine Tätigkeit auf. Der Zukunftsfonds als auch der Nationalfonds der Republik Österreich für Opfer des Nationalsozialismus unterstützen eine große Bandbreite von Projekten. In der geplanten Dokumentation werden folgende unterstützte Projekte vorgestellt: • Europa als Friedensprojekt • Lehrlinge nach Brüssel aus ausgewählten Berufsschulen • KZ-Gedenkstätte Mauthausen • Österreichischer Demokratie-Monitor • Intercultural Achievement Award • „Hypnotisiert“: Den Kinderrechten auf der Spur (Theaterstück).
