Description
The project is a continuation and at the same time a short film that follows a very special journey that four Kindertransport survivors undertook eighty years after their escape. On 1 July 2019, four Kindertransport survivors aged 83 to 92 came to Vienna to undertake once again a journey that they had to make 80 years ago and that saved their lives. At that time they had to leave their parents and their homes behind. The Kindertransport Journey Project followed these four survivors, accompanied by 14 members of the second generation, as they retraced their steps by train from Vienna and Berlin to Holland and England. While the Kindertransport took place eighty years ago, "Kindertransport Journey Project" is not just in the past. Time moves forward and backward in this film, taking viewers from 1938 to the present. Follow-up interviews to the film have already been filmed in Florida with Ralph Mollerick and Mark Burin, and more interviews with Ilse Melamid and Eva Yachnes are planned in the coming months. The goal of the project is to create an emotional and educational short film.

Das Projekt ist eine Fortsetzung und zugleich ein Kurzfilm, der einer ganz besonderen Reise folgt, welche vier Kindertransport-Überlebende achtzig Jahre nach ihrer Flucht unternommen haben. Am 1. Juli 2019 kamen vier Kindertransport-Überlebende im Alter von 83 bis 92 Jahren nach Wien, um nochmals eine Reise zu unternehmen, welche sie bereits vor 80 Jahren antreten mussten und die ihr Leben rettete. Sie mussten damals ihre Eltern und ihr Zuhause zurücklassen. Das „Kindertransport Journey Project“ folgte diesen vier Überlebenden, die von 14 Mitgliedern der zweiten Generation begleitet wurden, während sie ihre Schritte von Wien und Berlin nach Holland und England mit dem Zug zurückverfolgten. Während der Kindertransport vor achtzig Jahren stattfand, befindet sich das „Kindertransport Journey Project“ nicht nur in der Vergangenheit. Die Zeit bewegt sich in diesem Film vorwärts und rückwärts und führt die Zuschauer von 1938 bis in die Gegenwart. Zum Film wurden bereits Folgeinterviews in Florida mit Ralph Mollerick und Mark Burin gefilmt, es sind in den nächsten Monaten weitere Interviews mit Ilse Melamid und Eva Yachnes geplant. Ziel des Projekts ist die Erstellung eines emotionalen und lehrreichen Kurzfilmes.
