Truus Wijsmuller (1896-1978) was an "ordinary" woman who became active when the lives of Jewish children were no longer safe after the November pogroms in many European countries. She traveled to Vienna and personally negotiated with Adolf Eichmann. She succeeded in organizing a transport for 600 Jewish children without parents within a few days. Thus was born the first Kindertransport from Germany, which in the following months took children from Vienna, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Poland to safe places. They were put on the train by their parents, with no more than a bag containing their most precious belongings - older children often with the responsibility for small siblings or sometimes even with a baby on their arm. In all, some 10,000 Jewish children were brought to safety and rescued this way. Truus Wijsmuller played an essential role in planning and organizing and accompanying the transports.

Ziel des Projekts sind drei Filmvorführungen in Wien. Für geladenes Publikum als auch zwei Vorführungen für Schulklassen. Truus Wijsmuller (1896–1978) war eine „gewöhnliche“ Frau, die aktiv wurde, als das Leben jüdischer Kinder nach den Novemberpogromen in vielen europäischen Ländern nicht mehr sicher war. Sie reiste nach Wien und verhandelte persönlich mit Adolf Eichmann. Es gelang ihr, innerhalb weniger Tage einen Transport für 600 jüdische Kinder ohne Eltern zu organisieren. So entstand der erste Kindertransport aus Deutschland, der in den folgenden Monaten Kinder aus Wien, Deutschland, der Tschechoslowakei und Polen an sichere Orte führte. Sie wurden von den Eltern in den Zug gesetzt, mit nicht mehr als einer Tasche mit ihren wertvollsten Sachen – ältere Kinder oft mit der Verantwortung für kleine Geschwister oder manchmal sogar mit einem Baby am Arm. Insgesamt wurden auf diesen Weg rund 10.000 jüdische Kinder in Sicherheit gebracht und gerettet. Truus Wijsmuller spielte eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Planung und Organisation und Begleitung der Transporte.
