From autumn 1944, Jewish slave labourers were also used by the Nazi regime for entrenchment work on the "Südostwall". The goal was extermination through labour, and those who were too weak to work before they starved to death were shot. One of these crimes, in which 29 Jewish slave labourers were murdered, took place on Aasplatz in Jennersdorf in early 1945. The memorial will be erected at the site of the crime and has a forward-looking artistic approach. The artwork invites dialogue. The memorial is located in the direct vicinity of the Jennersdorf grammar school and will thus naturally give future generations an impetus to deal with this dark chapter of history.

Für Schanzarbeiten am ,,Südostwall" wurden vom nationalsozialistischen Regime ab dem Herbst 1944 auch jüdische Sklavenarbeiter eingesetzt. Das Ziel war die Vernichtung durch Arbeit, und wer, bevor er verhungert war, zu schwach zum Arbeiten war, wurde erschossen. Eines dieser Verbrechen, bei dem 29 jüdische Zwangsarbeiter ermordet wurden, geschah Anfang 1945 am Aasplatz in Jennersdorf. Das Denkmal wird am Ort des Verbrechens aufgestellt werden und hat einen zukunftsorientierten künstlerischen Zugang. Das Kunstwerk lädt zum Dialog ein. Das Denkmal steht in direkter Nachbarschaft zum Jennersdorfer Gymnasium und wird so den kommenden Generationen ganz selbstverständlich einen Anstoß geben, sich mit diesem dunklen Kapitel der Geschichte zu beschäftigen.
