Project

Description

The commemorative program is dedicated to the two exceptional artists and Holocaust survivors Georg Kreisler and Gerhard Bronner, both born in Vienna in 1922. Both managed to survive the Nazi regime and went on to enjoy successful careers as songwriters and composers in Austria after the war. The two artists were initially bound together by an intimate friendship for many years, which later became a bitter enmity. Their contrasts and similarities form the field of tension of this program. Around 20 commemorative performances are planned throughout Austria in 2022.
