Project

Description

This research project focuses on the building at Josefinengasse 10 in Vienna’s 2nd District – in the neighbourhood it was called the Hungerleider House – and its owner until the persecution of the Jews, the poultry trader Simon Hungerleider, as well as his family and other persecuted residents of the building. The aim of the project is to name the victims of Nazi crimes on the basis of personal fates, to record their biographies and to identify the perpetrators. The history of the building is the framework for presenting the personal fates during the events between the “Anschluss” and their murder in the death camps.
