Description
The association is planning a festival to mark the “Anschluss” of Austria to Nazi Germany in 1938 and to commemorate the victims. Ringelseeplatz in the 21st District was a central meeting place for Roma, Sinti, Lovara, Yenish and, after the suppression of the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, also for refugees and transients from other countries until the 1960s. A festival on this site was not approved. The association therefore wants to organise an international festival on the nearby Roma-Wise and at other locations.

Bezirk war bis in die 1960er-Jahre ein zentraler Treffpunkt für Roma, Sinti, Lovara, Jenische und nach der Niederschlagung der ungarischen Revolution 1956 auch für Geflüchtete und Durchreisende aus anderen Ländern. Ein Festival auf diesem Gelände wurde nicht genehmigt. Der Verein will deshalb auf der nahe gelegenen Roma-Wiese und an anderen Orten ein internationales Festival veranstalten.
