The exhibition is based on an exhibition by the Jewish Museum Vienna and has been supplemented with objects relating to the resistance fighter Hilda Monte, who was shot in Vorarlberg in 1945. From 6 March 2022, the Women's Museum Hittisau will show the exhibition “verfolgt / verlobt / verheiratet” (persecuted / engaged / married), which is dedicated to the fates and lives of Jewish women who were able to save themselves from deportation and murder by the Nazis through marriages of convenience. Especially in times of rising antisemitism, we consider it very important to contribute to making Jewish history visible.

Die Ausstellung basiert auf einer Schau des Jüdischen Museums Wien und wurde um Objekte ergänzt, die die 1945 in Vorarlberg erschossene Widerstandskämpferin Hilda Monte betreffen. Das Frauenmuseum Hittisau zeigt ab 6. März 2022 die Ausstellung „verfolgt / verlobt / verheiratet“, die den Schicksalen und Lebenswegen jüdischer Frauen gewidmet ist, die sich durch Scheinehe vor der Deportation und Ermordung durch die Nazis retten konnten. Gerade in Zeiten eines steigenden Antisemitismus halten wir es für sehr wichtig, einen Beitrag zur Sichtbarmachung jüdischer Geschichte zu leisten.
