Project

Description

A staged concert evening in two parts: 1st part: Nazi ostracised female composers. 2nd part a cappella music by Hanns Eisler. Numerous female composers who were successful before the Nazi era, such as Camilla Frydan, Vally Weigl – the music therapist and composer of hymns – the children's song composer Ilse Weber, the chanson composer Hilda Geiringer, the dancer and composer Anita Lelewer as well as the composers Ursula Mamlok and Ruth Schonthal, who were driven out as girls. This project wrests them from oblivion so they finally receive the attention they deserve.
