Weiterentwicklung des Projekts Lebenswege nach Mauthausen: Übersetzung und inhaltliche Erweiterung

 

It has been shown that the teaching material, with its multi-perspective approach and its compact, graphically appealing form, is very popular: - In the future, the material will also be available in English to respond to the demand from school groups from abroad and to present the educational material in English for the first time. In addition, three to four international youth get-togethers with about 100 young people take place at the memorial every year. The material would also serve as preparation for them. - The content of the material will to be expanded to include at least ten more biographies. On the one hand, this will make it possible to outline the history of the Nazi era even more clearly and comprehensively on the basis of concrete life stories (victims, perpetrators, social environment); on the other hand, the addition of further biographies complies with the feedback received from teachers that, if possible, each pupil should have a biography (or a workbook) to work on individually.

Es hat sich gezeigt, dass das Unterrichtsmaterial mit seinem multiperspektivischen Ansatz und aufgrund seiner kompakten, grafisch ansprechenden Form sehr große Nachfrage hervorruft. überführen und in zweierlei Richtungen weiterzuentwickeln:   • Künftig soll das Material auch auf Englisch verfügbar sein, um auf die Nachfrage von Schulgruppen aus dem Ausland zu reagieren und das Vermittlungsmaterial erstmalig auf Englisch vorzulegen. An der Gedenkstätte finden zudem jährlich drei bis vier internationale Jugendbegegnungen mit ca. 100 Jugendlichen statt. Auch ihnen würde das Material zur Vorbereitung dienen. • Das Material soll inhaltlich um mindestens zehn Biografien erweitert werden. Zum einen ist es dadurch möglich, die Geschichte der NS-Zeit auf Basis konkreter Lebensgeschichten (Opfer, Täter, gesellschaftliches Umfeld) noch deutlicher und umfassender zu skizzieren; andererseits kommt das Hinzufügen weiterer Biografien der von Lehrpersonen eingebrachten Rückmeldung entgegen, dass möglichst jeder/m Schüler/in einzeln eine Biografie (bzw. ein Arbeitsheft) zur Bearbeitung zur Verfügung stehen sollte.
