The documentary film “Lilli”, is the survival story of the girl Lilli Tauber. She grew up as Lilli Shisha in Wiener Neustadt. In 1938, after the “Anschluss” of Austria to Nazi Germany, she was no longer allowed to attend grammar school. When the pogrom against the Jews of Wiener Neustadt began on the night of 9 to 10 November, her parents sent her to England on a Kindertransport. They wrote letters to each other until contact finally broke off. Her mother and father were deported to a ghetto in Poland. After the end of the Second World War, Lilli returned and desperately searched for her parents and family members. The film is Lilli's harrowing testimony of a Jewish extended family from Lower Austria. Due to its historical relevance, the film “Lill” is now to be put to use in a fitting manner: • Screenings at international and Jewish film festivals • Discursive school and university performances • Evaluations in German-speaking countries, Poland and Israel • TV exploitation in German-speaking countries • Special events, commemorative events • DVD or Blue Ray production The result of the project is to be a wide-ranging publication of the documentary film, which will above all be a stimulus for contemporary historical discussion and serve the culture of remembrance.

Der Dokumentarfilm "Lilli", ist die Überlebensgeschichte des Mädchens Lilli Tauber. Sie wächst als Lilli Shisha in Wiener Neustadt auf. 1938, nach dem "Anschluss" Österreichs an Nazi-Deutschland, darf sie das Gymnasium nicht mehr besuchen. Als in der Nacht vom 9. auf den 10. November das Pogrom auch gegen die Wiener Neustädter Jüdinnen und Juden beginnt, schicken ihre Eltern sie mit einem Kindertransport nach England. Sie schreiben sich Briefe, bis schließlich der Kontakt abbricht. Mutter und Vater werden in ein Ghetto nach Polen deportiert. Nach Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges kehrt Lilli zurück und sucht verzweifelt ihre Eltern und Familienangehörigen. Der Film ist Lillis erschütterndes Zeitzeugnis einer jüdischen Großfamilie aus Niederösterreich. Aus historischer Relevanz soll der Film "Lill" nun einer adäquaten Verwertung zugeführt werden: • Kinoaufführungen bei internationalen und jüdischen Filmfestivals • Diskursive Schul- und Universitätsaufführungen • Auswertungen im deutschsprachigen Raum, Polen und Israel • TV-Auswertung im deutschsprachigen Raum • Sonderveranstaltungen, Gedenkveranstaltungen • Produktion von DVD oder Blue Ray Das Ergebnis des Projektes soll eine weitreichende Publikation des Dokumentarfilmes sein, die vor allem eine Anregung für eine zeitgeschichtliche Diskussion ist und der Erinnerungskultur dienen soll.
