Workshop "Wir sind alle"- Begleitungen an Orten ehemaliger Außenlager- Workshops zur Vor- und Nachbereitung

 

The former Mauthausen concentration camp had around 50 subcamps located throughout almost all of Austria’s provinces. Since 2011, the Mauthausen Committee Austria has been offering guided tours of the sites of the former satellite camps with the help of trained and certified Mauthausen guides. The innovative and comprehensive offer of guided tours at the sites of former subcamps in combination with preparation and follow-up to the visit to the concentration camp memorial site was adapted to fit the different approaches to the topic as well as individual characteristics of the respective groups. As already mentioned, an essential approach to teaching is to establish a connection to the present for the young people, which is additionally achieved through preparation and follow-up. The aim of the workshop is to deal with topics such as one's own identity, cultural behaviour in other countries as well as the clash of foreign cultures, prejudices and discrimination based on religion and culture and other human rights violations, thus promoting the development of intercultural competence. During the workshop, the young people deal with their own identity and their everyday life. Through various exercises, the young people will work on diverse topics such as prejudice, diversity, religions, human rights and identities. The aim of the workshop is to build a bridge to respectful coexistence. This workshop can be booked to complement the visits to the concentration camp memorials or separately.

Das ehemalige Konzentrationslager Mauthausen hatte rund 50 Außenlager in nahezu allen Bundesländern. Seit 2011 ermöglicht das MKÖ mithilfe von ausgebildeten und zertifizierten Mauthausen-Guides Begleitungen an Orten der ehemaligen Außenlager. Die Begleitungen werden an 23 Orten ehemaliger Außenlager durchgeführt. Das innovative und umfassende Angebot von Begleitungen an Orten ehemaliger Außenlager in Kombination mit einer Vorbereitung sowie einer Nachbereitung des KZ-Gedenkstättenbesuchs wurde auf die Zugänge zum Thema als auch auf die Besonderheiten der jeweiligen Gruppen abgestimmt. Wie bereits erwähnt, ist ein essentieller Vermittlungsansatz, einen Gegenwartsbezug zu den Jugendlichen herzustellen, der durch eine Vor- und Nachbereitung zusätzlich erreicht wird. Das Ziel des Workshops ist es, Themenbereiche wie die eigene Identität, kulturelles Verhalten in anderen Ländern sowie das Aufeinandertreffen fremder Kulturen, Vorurteile und Diskriminierung aufgrund von Religion und Kultur und andere Menschenrechtsverletzungen zu behandeln und so die Entstehung einer interkulturellen Kompetenz zu fördern. Im Rahmen des Workshops setzen sich die Jugendlichen mit der eigenen Identität und ihrem Alltag auseinander. Durch verschiedenste Übungen wird mit den Jugendlichen zu diversen Themen wie Vorurteile, Vielfalt, Religionen, Menschenrechte und Identitäten gearbeitet. Ziel des Workshops ist es, einen Bogen zu einem respektvollen Zusammenleben zu spannen. Dieser Workshop kann sowohl als Ergänzung zu den Besuchen der KZ-Gedenkstätten als auch separat gebucht werden.
