The project, an evening somewhere between staged reading and post-dramatic theatre performance, is being developed as a collective work without fixed hierarchical structures, based on the idea of Alexandra Leonie Kronberger. The team consists of established actors and musicians from the Tyrolean cultural scene, but is also intended to give young artists space. The novella “Ein Gefangener” (A Prisoner) by Otto Grünmandl tells of the senseless turmoil of the last days of the war against the backdrop of the ending of the Second World War. This is contrasted with the immeasurable value of humanity. Grünmandl himself is imprisoned by the Nazis in 1944 because of his Jewish origins and brought to Thuringia as a forced labourer in the Rositz lignite works. Although Grünmandl has always rejected an open thematisation of Nazism, the processing of his own experiences from the war and the labour camp is strongly perceptible. Alexandra Leonie Kronberger's concept attempts to transfer this special text to the stage. With the help of different stylistic devices and music, a unique evening is created that makes you think. Even if the concrete references to the Second World War and the time of the Nazi regime are clearly noticeable, the text can also be read as a timeless template that rejects all war and the violence that goes with it.

Das Projekt, ein Abend zwischen szenischer Lesung und postdramatischer Theaterperformance, wird ausgehend von der Idee von Alexandra Leonie Kronberger als kollektives Werk ohne feste hierarchische Strukturen erarbeitet. Das Team besteht aus etablierten Schauspieler*innen und Musiker*innen der Tiroler Kulturszene, soll aber auch dem künstlerischen Nachwuchs Raum geben. Die Novelle "Ein Gefangener" von Otto Grünmandl erzählt vor dem Hintergrund des endenden Zweiten Weltkrieges von den sinnlosen Wirren der letzten Kriegstage. Dem gegenüber wird der unmessbare Wert der Menschlichkeit gestellt. Grünmandl selbst wird noch 1944 von den Nationalsozialisten aufgrund seiner jüdischen Herkunft inhaftiert und als Zwangsarbeiter nach Thüringen in die Braunkohlenwerke von Rositz gebracht. Obwohl Grünmandl eine offene Thematisierung des Nationalsozialismus stets abgelehnt hat, ist die Verarbeitung der eigenen Erfahrungen aus dem Krieg und dem Arbeitslager stark spürbar. Das Konzept von Alexandra Leonie Kronberger versucht diesen besonderen Text auf die Bühne zu übertragen. Mithilfe unterschiedlicher Stilmittel und Musik wird ein einzigartiger Abend geschaffen, der zum Nachdenken anregt. Auch wenn die konkreten Bezüge zum Zweiten Weltkrieg und zur Zeit des Nationalsozialismus deutlich spürbar sind, so lässt sich der Text ebenso als zeitlose Schablone lesen, die jeden Krieg und die einhergehende Gewalt ablehnt.
