The project “Hartheim killing centre & Nazi euthanasia in ‘Oberdonau’ - historica reappraisal, documentation, mediation” aims to conduct research on various aspects of Nazi euthanasia in Hartheim Castle and the “Reichsgau Oberdonau” as well as Nazi health and population policies. In detail, the project includes the following points: • Research on victims of the Niedernhart sanatorium and nursing home and their burial places • Research on Bavarian victims of the Hartheim killing centre • Digitisation and acquisition of archival and collection objects • Interviews on dealing with Nazi euthanasia and the site of the crimes in the region or in the village of Hartheim after 1945 • Development of an educational programme on the lives of people with disabilities in the past and present • Revision of the “Power of Language” mediation programme • Revision of the overview tour for young people with non-German mother tongue • Training for guides on the topic of simple language/accessible communication • Training for guides on the anti-bias approach and anti-discriminatory education work • Further training for guides on the history of care for the disabled and psychiatry • Fees for conducting workshops and educational programmes • Preparation of biographical texts on people murdered at Hartheim/translation into various foreign languages • Workshop on the development of the “Klump toy” (Herbert Eichholzer) with people with disabilities • Reading/workshop for pupils from the novel “Nebel im August” (Fog in August) • Event on dealing with Nazi euthanasia and the site of the crimes in the region or in the village of Hartheim after 1945 • Creation of a guidance system and tactile elements for the “Value of Life” exhibition • Publication on the representation of the Nazi era and the Holocaust in comics (contributions to the conference held in May 2023)

Das Projekt "Tötungsanstalt Hartheim & NS-Euthanasie in ‚Oberdonau' - historische Aufarbeitung, Dokumentation, Vermittlung" setzt sich zum Ziel, Forschungen zu verschiedenen Aspekten der NS-Euthanasie in Schloss Hartheim und dem "Reichsgau Oberdonau" sowie der NS-Gesundheits- und Bevölkerungspolitik zu betreiben. Im Einzelnen beinhaltet das Projekt folgende Punkte: • Recherchen zu Opfern der Heil- und Pflegeanstalt Niedernhart und ihren Bestattungsorten • Recherchen zu bayerischen Opfern der Tötungsanstalt Hartheim • Digitalisierung und Akquise von Archivalien und Sammlungsobjekten • Interviews zum Umgang mit der NS-Euthanasie und dem Ort der Verbrechen in der Region bzw. im Ort Hartheim nach 1945 • Erarbeitung eines Vermittlungsprogramms zur Lebenswelt von Menschen mit Behinderungen in Vergangenheit und Gegenwart • Überarbeitung des Vermittlungsprogramms "Macht der Sprache" • Überarbeitung des Überblicksrundgangs für junge Menschen mit nicht-deutscher Muttersprache • Fortbildung für Guides zum Thema einfache Sprache/barrierefreie Kommunikation • Fortbildung für Guides zum Anti-Bias-Ansatz und zu antidiskriminierender Bildungsarbeit • Fortbildung für Guides zur Geschichte der Behindertenbetreuung und der Psychiatrie • Honorare für Durchführung von Workshops und pädagogischen Programmen • Erarbeitung von biografischen Texten zu in Hartheim ermordeten Menschen/Übersetzung in verschiedene Fremdsprachen • Workshop zur Erarbeitung des "Klump-Spielzeugs" (Herbert Eichholzer) mit Menschen mit Behinderung • Lesung/Workshop für Schüler*innen aus dem Roman "Nebel im August" • Veranstaltung zum Umgang mit der NS-Euthanasie und dem Ort der Verbrechen in der Region bzw. im Ort Hartheim nach 1945 • Erstellung von Leitsystem und taktilen Elementen für Ausstellung "Wert des Lebens" • Publikation zur Darstellung von NS-Zeit und Holocaust in Comics (Beiträge der im Mai 2023 durchgeführten Tagung)
