Siebtes internationales Menschenrechtesymposium 2023

 

With the International Human Rights Symposium taking place around the Night of Broken Glass on 9 November, each year an article from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is presented in a contemporary form of remembrance work and current human rights education in an interesting format of educational and cultural events for all generations. The focus of this year's symposium is Article 6 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Recognition as a legal person. Everyone has the right to be recognised everywhere as having legal capacity. What does legal capacity mean in the context of the Nazi era? The event formats are deliberately varied in order to appeal to as many people of all ages as possible from the “awareness region” and beyond. The programme ranges from a panel discussion and workshops to cultural events in literature and art (poetry slam, readings, concerts...). Renowned artists and writers enrich the cultural programme and attract additional groups of visitors. In addition, comprehensive activities in the field of public relations are planned.

Mit dem Internationalen Menschenrechtesymposium rund um die Reichspogromnacht am 9. November wird jährlich ein Artikel aus der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte in zeitgemäßer Form von Erinnerungsarbeit und aktueller Menschenrechtebildung in einem interessanten Format von Bildungs- und Kulturveranstaltungen für alle Generationen aufbereitet. Den Schwerpunkt für das heurige Symposium bildet der Artikel 6 der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte: Anerkennung als Rechtsperson. Jeder hat das Recht, überall als rechtsfähig anerkannt zu werden. Was bedeutet Rechtsfähigkeit im Zusammenhang mit der NS-Zeit? Die Veranstaltungsformate sind bewusst vielseitig gewählt, um möglichst viele Menschen aller Altersgruppen aus der Bewusstseinsregion und darüber hinaus anzusprechen. So reicht das Angebot von einem Podiumsgespräch, Workshops zum bis hin zu kulturellen Veranstaltungen aus Literatur und Kunst (Poetry Slam, Lesung, Konzert...). Namhafte Künstler*innen und Schriftsteller*innen bereichern das kulturelle Angebot und ziehen als Publikumsmagnet zusätzliche Besuchergruppen an. Darüber hinaus sind auch umfassende Aktivitäten im Bereich der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit geplant.
