Project

Description

Jewish youths (so-called Likratinos) between the ages of 14 and 25 are professionally trained in workshops and seminars and learn new skills in the areas of the Shoah, Jewish identity, religion, Israel, rhetoric, communication and group dynamics. After completing this training, the Jewish youths visit schools to engage in an open dialogue with non-Jewish students of the same age about Judaism, the Shoah and remembrance, to answer critical questions, to counteract possible prejudices and to raise awareness. The open dialogue at LIKRAT leads to a reduction of stereotypical perceptions and enables young people to speak openly with each other. In addition, LIKRAT enables the Likratinos to pass on the stories of the Holocaust generation to the non-Jewish pupils. The theme of the Shoah/memorial is always at the forefront of the encounters.
