Description
The documentary film “A Boy’s Life” by Christian Krönes and Florian Weigensamer documents the fateful twists and turns of a probably unique life and survival story. It is the story of nine-year-old Daniel and his odyssey from the ghetto in Kaunas, Lithuania, through six concentration camps to Palestine – it describes being a child and growing up at a time when there was no place for childhood. Another focus of the film’s deployment will be school education, including both the creation of educational materials to accompany the film and the scheduling of school screenings at schools and secondary educational institutions. The Vienna premiere of “A Boy’s Life” is scheduled to take place in September at the Stadtkino im Künstlerhaus.

Der Dokumentarfilm "A Boy's Life" von Christian Krönes und Florian Weigensamer dokumentiert die schicksalhaften Wendungen einer wohl einzigartigen Lebens- und Überlebensgeschichte. Es ist dies die Geschichte des neunjährigen Daniel und dessen Odyssee vom Ghetto im litauischen Kaunas über sechs Konzentrationslager bis nach Palästina - sie erzählt vom Kindsein und vom Erwachsenwerden zu einer Zeit, in der es keinen Platz dafür gab. Ein weiterer Fokus der Filmverwertung soll die Schulvermittlung darstellen, die sowohl die Erstellung der pädagogischen Begleitmaterialien zum Film als auch die Akquise von Schulscreenings an Schulen und weiterführenden Bildungseinrichtungen umfasst. Die Wien-Premiere von "A Boy's Life" soll im September im Stadtkino im Künstlerhaus stattfinden.
