In eternal remembrance: 85 years since the November pogrom

In co-operation with numerous Viennese district authorities, the Vienna Royal Philharmonic will commemorate the November pogrom that took place 85 years ago. Only compositions by banished composers will be performed. Vienna Royal Philharmonic has received sheet music from descendants of banished composers, which has been carefully reconstructed, maintained and rehearsed for several years. Music researcher Peter Illavsky will discuss the biographies of the composers at the commemorative events.

In Zusammenarbeit mit zahlreichen Wiener Bezirksvorstehungen wird Vienna Royal Philharmonic an den vor 85 Jahren stattgefundenen Novemberpogrom erinnern. Dabei werden ausschließlich Kompositionen vertriebener Komponisten aufgeführt. Vienna Royal Philharmonic hat von Nachfahren vertriebener Komponisten Notenmaterial erhalten, welches seit mehreren Jahren sorgfältig rekonstruiert, gepflegt und neu einstudiert wird. Auf die Biografien der Komponisten wird der Musikforscher Peter Illavsky im Verlauf der Gedenkveranstaltungen eingehen.
