16 December 2023 marks the 30th anniversary of the recognition of the Roma as an Austrian ethnic group. On Saturday, 16 December 2023, there will therefore be a joint celebration where it all began - in Oberwart. A meeting will be held before the celebration. The motto will be: “Together instead of alone!” The question of how it was possible for the Roma (associations and activists) to cooperate on key issues and push through important demands together will be discussed.

Am 16. Dezember 2023 jährt sich zum 30. Mal die Anerkennung der Roma als österreichische Volksgruppe. Am Samstag, den 16. Dezember 2023 soll deshalb gemeinsam dort gefeiert werden, wo alles begann – in Oberwart. Vor dem Fest soll zu einem Treffen eingeladen werden. Das Motto wird sein: „Gemeinsam statt einsam!" Es wird die Frage diskutiert, wie es geschafft werden konnte, dass die Roma (Vereine und Aktivist:innen) in wesentlichen Themen kooperieren und gemeinsam wichtige Forderungen durchsetzen.
