In Austria, extraordinarily impressive theatre and performance productions have been created in the past decade that address the topic from different perspectives and each in a very unique artistic way, precisely at the moment of this historical upheaval. They address the question of how memory can be carried forward, made public and kept visible when those who witnessed events firsthand are no longer with us. Some of the productions directly involve the survivors or eyewitnesses, while others work with their testimonies. The project aims to bring together these theatre and performance productions, prepare them technically and editorially and make them jointly accessible online, which make the explosive and at the same time historical moment of the transformation of testimony a central theme and formally implement it in a specific way - in the hope of creating a virtual place where productions worldwide that deal with the topic or are based on it can join it and be recorded and made visible.

In Österreich sind im vergangenen Jahrzehnt außerordentlich beeindruckende Theater- und Performance-Produktionen entstanden, die aus verschiedener Perspektive auf das Thema und auf jeweils sehr eigene künstlerische Weise genau am Moment dieses historischen Umbruchs ansetzen und die Frage aufgreifen, wie die Erinnerung weitergetragen, öffentlich gemacht und sichtbar gehalten werden kann, wenn die direkten Zeitzeug:innen nicht mehr von ihr zeugen können. Ein Teil der Produktionen bindet dabei die Überlebenden bzw. Zeitzeug:innen noch direkt ein, ein Teil arbeitet mit ihren Zeugnissen. Das Projekt möchte diese Theater- und Performance-Produktionen zusammenfassen, technisch und redaktionell aufbereiten und gemeinsam online zugänglich machen, die das brisante und gleichzeitig historische Moment der Transformation von Zeugenschaft zentral zum Thema machen und auf jeweils spezifische Weise formal umsetzen – in der Hoffnung, hiermit einen virtuellen Ort zu schaffen, an dem weltweit Produktionen, die sich mit der Thematik auseinandersetzen bzw. auf ihr gründen, andocken und erfasst und sichtbar gemacht werden können.
