Description
The aim of the project is to develop 12 new SWIGGI tours. The tours will focus on specific themes, specific geographical areas, historical events and more. The tours will be developed to be relevant to specific dates, such as 27 January 2024 (International Holocaust Remembrance Day), 12 March 2024 (Simon Wiesenthal Prize), 20 September 2024 (anniversary of Simon Wiesenthal’s death) and European Day of Remembrance, 9-10 November 2024 Pogrom Night, 31 December 2024 (116th birthday of Simon Wiesenthal). The SWIGGI Vienna tours make a valuable contribution towards commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, depicting the lives of Viennese Jews before the war and combatting Holocaust denial. This is important for the younger generations, who can learn from the fate of the murdered Viennese Jews and ensure that the Holocaust will never be repeated. The project is also in the spirit of the late Simon Wiesenthal, the famous Nazi hunter. He was active in Vienna for over 40 years. The work of Simon Wiesenthal is for the younger generation.

Ziel des Projekts ist es 12 neue SWIGGI-Touren zu entwickeln. Die Touren werden sich auf bestimmte Themen, bestimmte geografische Gebiete, historische Ereignisse und mehr konzentrieren. Die Touren werden so entwickelt, dass sie für bestimmte Daten relevant sind, wie z. B. 27. Januar 2024 (Internationaler Holocaust-Gedenktag), 12. März 2024 (Simon-Wiesenthal-Preis), 20. September 2024 - Todestag von Simon Wiesenthal und Europäischer Tag des Denkmals, 9.-10. November 2024 Pogromnacht, 31. Dezember 2024 (116. Geburtstag von Simon Wiesenthal). Die SWIGGI Wien-Touren tragen dazu bei, der Opfer des Holocaust zu gedenken, das Leben der Wiener Juden vor dem Krieg darzustellen und die Leugnung des Holocaust zu bekämpfen. Dies ist wichtig für die jüngeren Generationen, die aus dem Schicksal der ermordeten Wiener Juden lernen und sicherstellen können, dass sich der Holocaust nie wiederholen wird. Darüber hinaus ist das Projekt im Sinne des verstorbenen Simon Wiesenthal, des berühmten Nazi-Jägers. Er war über 40 Jahre lang in Wien tätig. Die Arbeit von Simon Wiesenthal ist für die jüngeren Generation.
