With the assistance of representatives of victims groups, the book aimed to make the biographies of victims of National Socialism concrete in written form. It was intended for the book to provide fresh impetus to further research in order that step by step all victims of National Socialism who can still be historically documented are recorded in order that they may be saved from being forgotten. The publication will be continuously updated; it is therefore not intended to be a one-off publication.

Das Buch verfolgt das Ziel, in Kooperation mit den Vertretern der Opfergruppen die Namen und Biographien der Naziopfer in Kärnten in schriftlicher Form greifbar zu machen. Es ist beabsichtigt, dabei Impulse zu weiterer Forschung zu geben, damit nach und nach alle historisch noch erfassbaren Opfer des Naziregimes festgehalten und somit dem Vergessen entrissen werden können. Die Publikation soll ständig auf den neuesten Stand gebracht werden; es ist also nicht an eine einmalige Publikation gedacht.
