Schönberg’s short opera Die glückliche Hand (The Hand of Fate) is at the heart of the concert programme that the Orchestra Divertimento Viennese will perform under the direction of conductor Vinzenz Praxmarer as part of the Salzkammergut Festival Weeks Gmunden and in cooperation with Salzkammergut 2024 on 3 October this year. Exactly 100 years after the premiere of Die glückliche Hand on 24 October 1924, this is particularly significant because Schönberg’s short opera, which has been completely forgotten, is based on dramatic personal experiences that took place during his stay at Lake Traunsee.

Schönbergs Kurzoper Die glückliche Hand steht im Zentrum des Konzertprogramms, das das Orchester Divertimento Viennese unter der Leitung des Dirigenten Vinzenz Praxmarer im Rahmen der Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden und in Kooperation mit Salzkammergut 2024 am 3. Oktober dieses Jahres zur Aufführung bringen wird. Genau 100 Jahre nach der Uraufführung von Die glückliche Hand am 24. Oktober 1924 ist das besonders sinnfällig, weil Schönbergs völlig in Vergessenheit geratene Kurzoper auf dramatischen persönlichen Erlebnissen beruht, die sich während seines Aufenthalts am Traunsee abgespielt haben.
