For this book, Gertrude Malle has meticulously compiled the stories of Jehovah’s Witnesses who were persecuted and murdered in Austria during the Nazi era. She conducted countless interviews with surviving relatives and has sifted through and documented the material from all the relevant archives and private archives. In this work, she comprehensively analysed the history of the persecution of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Vienna. Among others, she searched the Municipal and Provincial Archives of Vienna and the Archives of the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance and the Mauthausen Committee Austria.

Gertrude Malle hat für dieses Buch die Geschichten der während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus in Österreich verfolgten und ermordeten Zeugen Jehovas akribisch zusammengetragen. Sie führte unzählige Interviews mit Hinterbliebenen und hat das Material aller diesbezüglichen Archive und Privatarchive gesichtet und dokumentiert. In diesem Werk arbeitete sie die Geschichte der Verfolgung der Wiener Zeugen Jehovas umfassend auf. Sie durchforstete unter anderem das Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchiv des Dokumentationsarchives des österreichischen Widerstandes sowie das Mauthausen Komitee Österreich.
