The subject of the multi-year project is the personal indexing of all relevant Jewish Community (IKG) archive holdings on displaced persons, displaced persons, missing persons, former concentration camp prisoners, prisoners of war, forced labourers and refugees in DP camps in Vienna from 1945 to 1954. The project period for project part II of III is designed to run from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025. The archive of the Jewish Community Vienna has more than 92,200 documents (= around 136,400 digital copies) and index cards with information on an estimated 300,000 displaced persons. The first part of the project will be successfully completed by the end of September 2024. In the second part of the project, the following important groups of records will be catalogued by surname, first name, date of birth, place of birth, country of origin, arrival, departure, DP camp and reference to other family members or refugee groups.

Gegenstand des mehrjährigen Projekts ist die personenbezogene Erschließung aller relevanten IKG-Archivbestände zu Displaced Persons, Vertriebenen, Vermissten, ehemaligen KZ-Häftlingen, Kriegsgefangenen, Zwangsarbeiter:innen sowie Flüchtlingen in DP-Camps in Wien von 1945 bis 1954. Der Projektzeitraum für den Projektteil II von III ist konzipiert von 1. Oktober 2024 bis 30. September 2025. Das Archiv der IKG Wien verfügt über mehr als 92.200 Dokumente (= rund 136.400 Digitalisate) und Karteikarten mit Angaben zu schätzungsweise mehr als 300.000 Displaced Persons. Der erste Teil des Projekts wird mit Ende September 2024 erfolgreich abgeschlossen sein. Im zweiten Teil des Projekts werden weitere folgende wichtige Bestandsgruppen nach Familiennamen, Vornamen, Geburtsdatum, Geburtsort, Herkunftsland, Ankunft, Abreise, DP-Lager sowie der Bezug zu anderen Familienangehörigen oder Flüchtlingsgruppen erschlossen.
