Eighty years after the end of the Second World War, there is still no proper culture of remembrance, which is why this publication project on Joseph Buttinger, a social democrat and resistance fighter, and on St. Veit between resistance and National Socialism from 1926 to 1945 is necessary. The book mentions by name a total of 17 St. Veit residents who died under the Nazi regime, and some of their fates are described in more detail. These fates will also be commemorated in the form of Stones of Remembrance in St. Veit.

Dieses Publikationsprojekt zur Person Joseph Buttinger, Sozialdemokrat und Widerstandskämpfer, und über St. Veit zwischen Widerstand und Nationalsozialismus im Zeitraum zwischen 1926 bis 1945 ist notwendig, weil eine ordentliche Erinnerungskultur 80 Jahre nach Weltkriegsende noch immer nicht gegeben ist. Insgesamt 17 St. Veiter Todesopfer des NS-Regimes werden im Buch namentlich erwähnt, ihre Schicksale werden teilweise genauer beschrieben. Diese recherchierten Schicksale sollen dann auch Teil einer Erinnerungsmöglichkeit (Stolpersteine) in St. Veit werden.
