The Viennese artist Soshana was born in Vienna in 1929 and had to leave her homeland with her parents in 1938 due to the National Socialists. Her route first took her to London and later to New York and Havana. Soshana, who is a intersection and connection between Austria and the art of the 20th century, is a piece of art history and, through her Austrian-Jewish context and her personal life story embedded within it, a piece of contemporary history.

Die Wiener Künstlerin Soshana wurde 1927 in Wien geboren und musste 1938 aufgrund des Nationalsozialismus mit ihren Eltern die Heimat verlassen. Ihr Weg führte sie zunächst nach London, später nach New York und Havanna. Soshana, die ein Schnittpunkt und Bindeglied ist zwischen Österreich und der Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts, ist ein Stück Kunstgeschichte und durch ihren jüdisch-österreichischen Kontext und ihren darin eingebetteten persönlichen Lebenslauf ein Stück Zeitgeschichte.
