Redesign of the Museum at Persmanhof

Since the early 1980s, there has been a small museum in the Peršmanhof in Bad Eisenkappel/South Carinthia, which details the history of the Carinthian Slovenes since 1920, the resistance fight of the Carinthian Partisans against the National Socialist regime and the massacre of Carinthian Slovene farming family Sadovnik. With its memorial for the anti-Fascist resistance which was also erected in the early 1980s (this was originally erected in Völkermarkt but blown up by unknown people) and which stands in the forecourt of the Museum, the Peršmanhof is a unique memorial ensemble in an out-of-the-way tributary valley of Bad Eisenkappel. Historians and educationalists developed a comprehensive proposal for a redesign, which complies with the most recent contemporary historical and appropriate paedogogical knowledge. This concept was now to be put into practice and the exhibition expanded from one room to three.

Seit Beginn der 1980er Jahre beherbergt der Peršmanhof in Bad Eisenkappel/Südkärnten ein kleines Museum, das die Geschichte der Kärntner SlowenInnen ab 1920, den Widerstandskampf der Kärntner PartisanInnen gegen das NS-Regime und das Massaker an der kärntner-slowenischen Bauernfamilie Sadovnik dokumentiert. Mit dem ebenfalls Anfang der 1980er errichten Denkmal des antifaschistischen Widerstandes (ursprünglich war dieses 1947 in Völkermarkt errichtet, dann dort jedoch von Unbekannten gesprengt worden), das am Vorplatz des Museums aufgestellt ist, stellt der Peršmanhof ein einzigartiges Gedenkensemble in einem abgelegenen Seitental Bad Eisenkappels dar. HistorikerInnen und PädagogInnen erarbeiteten einen umfangreichen Vorschlag für eine Neugestaltung, der neuen geschichtswissenschaftlichen und zeitgemäßen pädagogischen und didaktischen Erkenntnissen folgt. Dieses Konzept soll nun umgesetzt und die Ausstellung von einem Raum auf drei erweitert werden.
