In cooperation with the Association Memorial Service, the Association Study Group for Historical Communication Research planned for November 2010 an international conference in Vienna dealing with the conveyance of the history of Fascism and National Socialism. Further partners were the Institute for Journalism and Communication Sciences of the University of Vienna and the Institute for Contemporary History at the University of Vienna. Taking the generational break in the communicative memory of the Austrian and German societies, the conference dealt with the possibilities for passing on the history of Fascism and National Socialism and remembrance of them to the future generations in a fitting manner.

Der Verein Arbeitskreis für historische Kommunikationsforschung (AHK) plant in Kooperation mit dem Verein Gedenkdienst (GD) im November 2010 eine internationale Tagung in Wien, die sich mit der Vermittlung der Geschichte von Faschismus und Nationalsozialismus auseinandersetzt. Weitere PartnerInnen sind die das Institut für Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft an der Universität Wien sowie das Institut für Zeitgeschichte an der Universität Wien. Die Tagung wird sich – ausgehend vom generationellen Bruch im kommunikativen Gedächtnis der österreichischen und deutschen Gesellschaft – mit Möglichkeiten auseinandersetzen, die Geschichte des Faschismus und Nationalsozialismus und die Erinnerung daran in geeigneter Form an künftige Generationen weiterzugeben.
