In 2007, university professor Dr. Hans Reichenfeld's autobiography "On the Fringe" was published in Ottawa. He based this work on his diaries which he had kept since his childhood, and which constitute a unique documentation of expulsion, exile and probation in the host country. His focuses lie on his memories of his early years in Vienna, his life in exile in Great Britain with a description of a lively life in exile in London, his internment as an "enemy alien" on the Isle of Man, the temporary deportation to Canada and the difficult path to building a new life in England, and then later in Canada again. It was a matter of great importance to Hans Reichenfeld that his recollections also be published in Austria in the German language.

Im Jahre 2007 hat Univ.-Prof. Dr. Hans Reichenfeld seine Autobiographie "On the Fringe" in Ottawa veröffentlicht. Grundlage waren seine seit Kindestagen geführten Tagebücher, die wohl ein einzigartiges Dokument von Vertreibung, Exil und Bewährung im Gastland darstellen. Schwerpunkte seiner Erinnerungen sind die frühen Jahre in Wien, seine Exilzeit in Großbritannien mit einer Schilderung des regen Exillebens in London, der Internierung als "Enemy alien" auf der Isle of Man, die vorübergehende Deportation nach Kanada und der mühsame Weg zur Begründung einer neuer Existenz in England und später wieder in Kanada. Für Hans Reichenfeld ist es ein leidenschaftliches Anliegen, dass seine Erinnerungen nun auch in Österreich in deutscher Sprache erscheinen können.
