Description

Vienna-Baltimore brought the experiences of the Viennese Holocaust survivor Leo Bretholz to the screen, how he witnessed the Anschluss, his flight from the transport wagon to Auschwitz to Nazi-occupied Vichy France and his new life in Baltimore, Maryland. The film investigates the human capacity to survive, to love and to resist.

Wien-Baltimore bringt die Erfahrungen des Wiener Holocaust Überlebenden Leo Bretholz auf die Leinwand, von seiner Zeugenschaft des Anschlusses, über seine Flucht aus dem Transportwaggon nach Auschwitz in das von den Nazis okkupierte Vichy-Frankreich, bis hin zu seinem neuen Leben in Baltimore, Maryland. Der Film erforscht die menschliche Fähigkeit zum Überleben, zur Liebe und zur Resistenz.
