Cantors - Memorial Concert

65 years after the Shoah, the Jewish Community wanted to put on a memorial concert. The National Socialists not only wanted to annihilate people but also an entire culture. But Jewish people even held services and sung Yiddish folksongs in the ghettos and concentration camps, sometimes endangering their own lives. Works by famous cantors and composers from this period were performed by modern cantors and choirs in synagogues and concert halls.

65 Jahre nach Ende der Shoah will die IKG ein Gedenkkonzert veranstalten. Die Nationalsozialisten haben sowohl Menschen als auch eine ganze Kultur vernichten wollen. Doch Juden haben sogar in Ghettos und Konzentrationslagern, manchmal unter Lebensgefahr, Gottesdienste abgehalten und die Gebete der Hoffnung gesprochen und jiddische Volkslieder gesungen. Werke berühmter Kantoren und Komponisten aus jener Zeit werden von heutigen Kantoren und Chören in Synagogen und Konzersälen wieder zu Gehör gebracht.
