In general, this work formed the first in-depth study of an Austrian SS and concentration camp doctor. Where previous biographies on Austrian National Socialists have mainly focused on the individual life of their subjects, in this work, for the first time, Ramsauer is deeply embedded in Austria's political and social system over several decades. There will be a new edition (published by New Academic Press) in 2024 and the book will be published in Slovenian translation in autumn 2025.

Generell handelt es sich bei dieser Arbeit um die erste große Studie zu einem österreichischen SS- und KZ-Arzt. Fokussierten bisher erschienene Biografiearbeiten zu österreichischen Nationalsozialisten vorrangig die individuellen Lebenswege der Biografierten, so erfolgt in dieser Arbeit eine tiefgehende Einbettung der Person Ramsauers in das politische und gesellschaftliche System Österreichs über mehrere Jahrzehnte hinweg. Es gibt eine Neuauflauge (erschienen im Verlag New Academic Press) 2024. Im Herbst 2025 wird das Buch in slowenischer Übersetzung erscheinen.
