In early summer 2010, the Beth Hatefutsot, the Museum of the Jewish People in Israel gifted the Jewish Museum Vienna a computer program with the title "Jewish Communities of Austria“. This program was originally commissioned by the National Fund and developed in Israel. In the program, the history of Jewish life in Austria is superbly documented and subjected to s sophisticated scientific analysis. It functions as a database with abundant cross-references of people, communities, historical events, photos, audio data and video material. An excellent graphic and didactic analysis enables the user to rummage through and investigate history in great depth. Unfortunately, the content of the program was only available in English and Hebrew. Its translation into German was essential to enable to software to have a meaningful use in the Jewish Museum.

Das Beth Hatefutsot, das Museum of the Jewish People in Israel hat im Frühsommer 2010 dem Jüdischen Museum Wien ein Computerprogramm mit dem Titel „Jewish Communities of Austria“ geschenkt. Dieses Programm ist ursprünglich vom Nationalfonds in Auftrag gegeben und in Israel umgesetzt worden. Darin ist die Geschichte des jüdischen Lebens in Österreich hervorragend dokumentiert und anspruchsvoll wissenschaftlich aufgearbeitet. Es fungiert als Datenbank mit üppigen Querverweisen von Persönlichkeiten, Gemeinden, über historische Ereignisse, Fotos, Audiodateien und Videomaterial. Eine hervorragende grafische und didaktische Aufarbeitung ermöglicht dem User ein tiefes Stöbern und Erforschen der Geschichte. Leider ist der Content des Programms ausschließlich in hebräischer und englischer Sprache vorhanden. Eine Übersetzung ins Deutsche ist für eine sinnvolle Verwendung der Software im Jüdischen Museum Wien unabdingbar.
