Description

The Castle Laudon Chamber Music Festival by the Aron Quartet is dedicated to the performance of selected works by composers persecuted by the Nazi regime: many of them had to emigrate, some were murdered in the Nazi death camps. 2011 was devoted to Erwin Schulhoff (opening concert, matinée) He is one of the composers who has faded into obscurity, despite playing an important role in the development of music history. He died in 1942 in a camp in Bavaria of “undernourishment and exhaustion”. In addition, one evening was dedicated to the Schonberg family. Works by Arnold Schönberg’s son, Georg Schönberg, who survived the Nazi era in Austria, were premiered at this concert.
