Description
This project aims to establish a link between the heroism of Jewish and non-Jewish rescuers during the Holocaust and the Simon Wiesenthal Genealogy Geolocation Initiative (SWIGGI). SWIGGI commemorates pre-war and wartime Vienna on a digital platform and creates vivid connections between historical courage and contemporary remembrance. The project’s objectives are to make four SWIGGI tours available online, to create a digital archive of rescue stories linked to the Simon Wiesenthal Memorial pages, and to provide educational materials for schools and institutions.

Dieses Projekt zielt darauf ab, eine Verbindung zwischen dem Heldentum jüdischer und nicht-jüdischer Retter:innen während der Zeit des Holocaust und der Simon Wiesenthal Genealogy Geolocation Initiative (SWIGGI) herzustellen. SWIGGI erinnert auf einer digitalen Plattform an das Wien der Vorkriegs- und Kriegszeit und schafft lebendige Verbindungen zwischen historischem Mut und gegenwärtigem Gedenken.
