Following a successful one-year run at the Josefstadt District Museum, the Lore Segal exhibition is now on display at the Leo Baeck Institute in New York. In a gallery space almost twice the size of the one in Vienna, the exhibition uses artefacts and documents discovered in Lore Segal’s estate to offer new insights into the friendship networks of the Austrian-American writer in exile, the support network of her parents, Igo and Franzi Groszmann, her literary and psychological influences, her concept of “home” and her exile on the first Vienna kindertransport.

Nach einer erfolgreichen einjährigen Laufzeit im Bezirksmuseum Josefstadt wird die Lore-Segal-Ausstellung nun im Leo-Baeck-Institut in New York gezeigt. In einem fast doppelt so großen Schauraum wie in Wien bietet die Ausstellung anhand von in Lore Segals Nachlass entdeckten Artefakten und Dokumenten neue Einblicke in die Freundschaftsnetzwerke der österreichisch- amerikanischen Exilschriftstellerin, das Unterstützungsnetzwerk ihrer Eltern, Igo und Franzi Groszmann, ihre literarischen und psychologischen Einflüsse, ihre Vorstellung von „zu Hause“ und ihre Exilnahme auf dem ersten Wiener Kindertransport.
