2026 marks the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Mauthausen concentration camp and its numerous satellite camps. The International Commemoration and Liberation Ceremony will take place on 10 May 2026 at the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial. It will be hosted in multiple languages and, for the first time in 2026, accompanied by a sign language interpreter. Over 100 further remembrance ceremonies at sites of former satellite camps or other locations associated with Nazi persecution are being organised by local initiatives within the network of the Mauthausen Committee Austria.

2026 jährt sich die Befreiung des Konzentrationslagers Mauthausen und seiner zahlreichen Außenlager zum 81. Mal. Die Internationale Gedenk- und Befreiungsfeier findet am 10. Mai 2026 in der KZ-Gedenkstätte Mauthausen statt. Sie wird mehrsprachig moderiert und 2026 erstmals durch eine Gebärdendolmetscherin begleitet. Über 100 weitere Feiern an Orten ehemaliger Außenlager oder anderer nationalsozialistischer Verfolgung werden von lokalen Initiativen im Netzwerk des Mauthausen Komitee Österreichs organisiert.
