Erinnerungsstätte für Opfer des Nationalsozialismus im Oberen Drautal

 

The “cultural association kuland” has been working on transforming the local culture of remembrance regarding National Socialism and World War II in Upper Drautal since 2005. At the end of the last project cycle “From the mind into the memory” a proposal for a lasting memorial was created by the historian Peter Pirker and the artist Peter Profunser and in discussions and workshops with the “Association kuland”. In order to lastingly expand and transform the cultural memory and to create a place of appraisal of National Socialism in a modern context, the association is realizing this memorial in Upper Drautal in cooperation with the local municipalities. A printed documentation and tours will be offered as an educational accompaniment.

Der „Kulturverein kuland“ arbeitet seit 2005 an der Transformation der lokalen Erinnerungskultur im Oberen Drautal in Zusammenhang mit dem Nationalsozialismus und dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Am Ende des vergangenen Projektzyklus "Aus dem Gedächtnis in die Erinnerung" wurde vom Historiker Peter Pirker und dem Künstler Hans Peter Profunser, sowie in Gesprächen und Workshops mit dem „Verein kuland“, ein Entwurf für eine dauernde Erinnerungsstätte geschaffen. Zur nachhaltigen Ergänzung und Transformation des kulturellen Gedächtnisses und zur Schaffung eines Ortes der gegenwartsbezogenen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Nationalsozialismus realisiert der Verein diese Erinnerungsstätte im Oberen Drautal in Zusammenarbeit mit den örtlichen Gemeinden. Zur pädagogischen und didaktischen Begleitung bieten sie darüber hinaus ein Dokumentationsband und Begehungen an.
