In partnership with numerous Viennese district authorities, in November 2025 the Vienna Arts Commission organised the Vienna Memorial Concerts to commemorate the November Pogrom for the third time. The programme focused exclusively on works by composers who were expelled or deported during the Nazi era. During the concerts, musicologist and artistic director Peter Illavsky not only presented the works but also introduced the composers’ biographies and explained their historical and artistic significance. The series aimed to raise awareness of Vienna’s Jewish cultural heritage, restore the place of exiled composers in the cultural memory, and create a space for collective remembrance.

In Zusammenarbeit mit zahlreichen Wiener Bezirksvorstehungen veranstaltete die Wiener Kunstkommission im November 2025 bereits zum dritten Mal die Wiener Gedenkkonzerte zum Novemberpogrom. Im Mittelpunkt standen ausschließlich Werke von Komponisten, die während der NS-Zeit vertrieben oder deportiert wurden. Bei den Konzerten präsentierte der Musikforscher und Intendant Peter Illavsky nicht nur die Werke, sondern stellte auch die Biografien der Komponisten vor und erläuterte deren historische sowie künstlerische Bedeutung. Die Reihe sollte das Bewusstsein für das jüdische kulturelle Erbe Wiens stärken, vertriebene Komponisten ins kulturelle Gedächtnis zurückholen und einen Raum für gemeinsames Erinnern eröffnen.
