This year, a delegation of the Austrian Camp Community Ravensbrück and Friends again traveled to the liberation ceremonies at the Ravensbrück Memorial. (25 women and men including four Ravensbrück survivors and four accompanying persons). In 2011, the annual meeting of the International Ravensbrück Committee was held in Venice. At this meeting, important decision were made as to the direction and priorities of the memorial site policies. The International Ravensbrück Committee is the only body in which survivors’ wishes and the current direction of memorial site policies are discussed and common concerns can be expressed.

Auch dieses Jahr fuhr eine Delegation der ÖLGRF zu den Befreiungsfeiern der Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück. (25 Frauen und Männer, darunter vier Überlebende des KZ Ravensbrück, weitere vier sind Begleitpersonen der Überlebenden). Die alljährliche Tagung des Internationalen Ravensbrück Komitees (IRK) fand 2011 in Venedig statt. In diesem Rahmen wurden wichtige Entscheidungen hinsichtlich der Ausrichtung und Prioritäten der Gedenkstättenpolitik getroffen. Das IRK ist das einzige Gremium, in dem die Wünsche der Überlebenden und die aktuelle Ausrichtung der Gedenkstättenpolitik auf breiter internationaler Basis diskutiert und gemeinsame Anliegen formuliert werden können.
